100 Stamps in 100 Days – Day 3
Postage Stamp Project
“100 stamps in 100 days” daily happy mail campaign and blog! I will be making an effort to send out at least 100 cards/letters over the next 100 days and blogging it. Encouraging a return to written correspondence!

My sister-in-law Holly has always been good at getting cards for every occasion in the mail. She sends lots of pictures of her kids as well, which is a great way for us to keep up with their growth and progress. Holly is truly a connector. So my first card today went to her. We only live 40 minutes or so away from each other, but busy work schedules, kids’ activities, and life in general keep us from getting together more than 5 or 6 times a year. Especially when this is the case, a personalized note can bridge the distance.
My second card is for my friend Maria Marriott of Executive Mortgage. We met through the Roseville Chamber of Commerce quite a few years ago, and Maria actually has a great snail mail and email campaign keeping her clients and prospects updated with the housing market. It is always good to connect with connectors!
I hadn’t planned on sending out more than those two cards today, but I was touched by two other people at work today. First, my friend Sandy is out this week due to a death in the family, so a card of condolences was in order. Sometimes it is hard to send those because often we don’t know how to put into words what we are feeling. When this is the case a book on Letter Writing Style or a google search for “letters of condolence” can help.
My last letter went out to SuperAwesome Victoria, who works with me. I was recently promoted and just moved into my new desk, and she surprised me this morning with a beautiful phalaenopsis orchid and card. So a thank you card was due, and only one with a postage stamp would do!
Stay tuned: 97 days to go!
