I have the best friends and I want to make sure they know it. One of those friends is Kim, the mom of my daughter’s best friend. She watches my daughter after school and doesn’t charge us anything! She is always available to help us in a pinch. In fact, the other day, I came home from work with a migraine, took some medicine and fell asleep. I woke up about the time I should have been picking up my youngest daughter from daycare. When I called the daycare provider, she mentioned that Kim had just picked up my daughter. My husband, unable to reach me, had called Kim and asked if she would mind helping out, since he was at work, 30 minutes away! She brought my daughters home to me and made sure that I was OK before heading home.
My first card of the day goes to Kim. Thank you Kim!! Your giving spirit is inspiring.
My second card…
My second card goes to my friend Cara to suggest that we get together again soon. I met her recently because she used to work where I currently work and she still comes in to visit. I was also able to get to know her a bit better when I attended a fundraising event for The Lost Boys of Sudan, where she and her husband read excerpts of the book/play “Love Letters” by A.R. Gurney. (Beautiful work, by the way) We also met for coffee and had a wonderfully inspiring conversation. I found out that she wrote a book called Dear Cara: Letters From Otto Frank, which was inpsired by letters between Otto Frank (Anne Frank’s father!! and herself) She is currently writing a few more books so I was able to connect her with another good friend Bill Walker of SimplieIndie, an independent publisher and publishing coach. I am anxious to grab a cup of coffee with her and catch up on all the progress!
Stay tuned: 93 days to go!
